I want to make a tent type wooden type shelter thing
A Each end is two 'A' frame poles pushed into the ground, a single joining pole horizontally across between them, these are bound and the ends tied with guide ropes pegged to the ground to keep them upright, then either layers of foliage or a sheet/tarpaulin draped over to make it shelter the occupants inside. This will not however make 'door ends' to the shelter, so driving wind and rain may still find it's way 'inside'... Or a tepee/bivouac/lean to - there should be a reference on the web somewhere - try searching for 'Ray Mears', 'Bear Grylls', and the like - they have described various means in their respective television series.
