- Is Butane heaters like the Stansport Portable Outdoor Butane Heater safe to use in a tent?
I am looking for a small portable and affordable heater to use. I am not planning on camping in extremely cold weathers (probably 40s mostly) so combustion should not be a problem. I am just concerned whether butane heater is safe to use in a tent, whether it burns clean, etc.
A There is no fuel powered space heater that is safe to use in a tent. These produce carbon monoxide gas which will kill you. If your camping at a regular state camp site with power use an electric heater. If your wilderness camping there are plenty of ways to stay warm with out a heater with diet, proper gear, tent and insulation.
